Homemade cheese sticks
Cheese is a healthy nutritious dish that makes life lot more easier. Fried cheese sticks with a nice tempting flavor makes for a great appetizer or a perfect snack. This is very simple to make and tastes heavenly with cheesy gooey inside and crispy outer texture. In this recipe the cheese sticks are coated with spicy batter and deep fried to crispy and golden. Ingredients
- Corn flour - 2 tbsp
- Maida flour - 5 tbsp
- Red chilli pwd - 1/2 tsp
- Mixed herbs - 1/2 tsp
- Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
- Bread crumbs - 3 to 4 tbsp
- Cheese slices - 4 to 5
- Salt to taste
- oil to deep fry
Method
- In a mixing bowl, add maida flour, corn flour, baking soda, salt, red chilli pwd, bread crumbs, mixed herbs and mix well.
- Add little water and combine.
- Add cheese slices and knead to smooth soft dough.
- Cover with lid and let the dough rest for 5 mins.
- Divide dough into equal sized balls.
- Dust with flour and roll into thin lengthy rolls as shown in video.
- Cut it to finger length slices.
- In a small mixing bowl, add 2 tbsp of maida flour.
- Add little water and mix it to thin paste.
- Dip the rolls in maida paste and coat with bread crumbs.
- Keep it in freezer for 30 mins.
- Heat oil in frypan.
- Fry the sticks in hot oil in medium flame.
- Flip once in a while and cook until the cheese sticks are crispy and golden.
- Drain from oil in kitchen tissue.
- Crispy delicious cheese sticks are ready.
- Enjoy hot with pizza sauce, tomato ketchup or any dip of your choice.
