Dhaba style Mutton Curry

This mutton curry is rich in flavors with tempting aroma & mouth watering spicy taste. Its very simple to prepare & doesn't require quite a lot of ingredients. In this recipe, the delicious, soft tender chunks of lamb or goat meat is cooked in Indian style spicy onion tomato gravy. Ingredients
To marinate
- Mutton - 1/2 kg
- Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli pwd - 3/4 tsp
- Yoghurt - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
To cook mutton:
- Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilli pwd - 1/2 tsp
- Gingely oil - 1 tsp
- Cumin pwd - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander pwd - 1 tsp
- Garam masala pwd - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
To make curry
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Pepper corns - 1 tsp
- Garlic cloves - 4
- Red chilli - 2
- Green chilli - 1
- Onion - 2
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Tomato - 2
- Dried fenugreek pwd - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Method
To marinate
- Clean and wash mutton thoroughly.
- Drain water.
- Marinate with turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd, yoghurt & salt.
- Let it marinate for 30 mins.
To cook mutton
- Add marinated mutton to pressure cooker.
- Add turmeric pwd, red chilli pwd, 1 tsp of oil, cumin pwd, salt, coriander pwd and garam masala pwd.
- Mix well.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and cook until mutton is 3/4 th done.
- Set it aside.
To make mutton curry:
- Heat gingely oil in frypan.
- Add cumin, pepper, curry leaves, red chilli, green chilli, garlic cloves and wait to splutter.
- Add sliced onios and saute until light brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell disappears.
- Add freshly sliced coriander and mint leaves.
- Add sliced tomatoes and saute till the tomatoes are cooked soft.
- Now add 3/4 th cooked mutton along with masala.
- Sprinkle dried fenugreek leaves and cook covered in low flame for 10 mins or until the mutton is tender.
- Toss good.
- Taste and adjust salt & seasonings.
- Turn off flame.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- Spicy hot dhaba style mutton curry is ready.
- Enjoy hot with roti, paratha, naan or rice dishes.
